After completing his BA in Human Movement Science at the University of Pretoria in 2004, Cobus completed his BSc degree in Physiotherapy at the University of Stellenbosch in 2008. In 2013, Cobus completed his Master’s degree in Adapted Physical Activity at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (Belgium). He further successfully completed the OMT post-graduate course in 2014. His special interest is sport- and musculoskeletal physiotherapy and rehabilitation, and lectures on lower limb dysfunction and rehabilitation. He has gained valuable experience working in clinical and academic settings, and believes in a hands-on approach to patient management. Cobus also enjoys everything outdoors, and is a keen runner, cyclist and tri-athlete. His active participation in sport provided him with the understanding that finding the cause of the problem is fundamental to successful management.

Marisa Breytenbach

Marisa graduated from Stellenbosch University in 2008, after which she obtained valuable experience working in a private sports and orthopedic physiotherapy practice. Her love for traveling resulted in her completing her Postgraduate diploma in Advanced Musculoskeletal Rehabilitation and Sport Physiotherapy at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Belgium. Thereafter she joined Helene Simpson and the Sports Injuries Centre team at UCT for 3 years, where she enjoyed working within a sporting community. 

Marisa further successfully completed her Pilates course through Body Control Pilates in 2016, enabling her to incorporate the pilates principles into rehabilitation of patients in one on one and group settings. 

She joined the Spinalphysio team in Constantia in 2017, where she gained valuable experience in the management of post surgical patients on their road to recovery.

Her love for outdoor activities and a variety of sports including running, cycling and triathlon contributes to her passion for treating sport and orthopedic related injuries.

Working in land based and aquatic therapy private practices since 2008, Liesel has developed a deep respect for the complexity of the human body and the different aspects that are involved in the healing process.

She is passionate about restoring quality of life to her patients, and believes that movement can be medicine. Liesel's special interest in aquatic physiotherapy has enabled her to assist in a wider range of conditions, where the unique benefits of water offers improved freedom of movement. By combining her love for movement, education and rehabilitation, she strives to partner with her clients on their road to recovery.

In her free time, Liesl is a keen runner and mountain biker, and enjoys spending time with family somewhere outdoors.

Janine Esterhuizen

After completing her Master's degree in Biochemistry at the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University in 2006, Janine went on to complete her BSc degree in Physiotherapy at the University of Stellenbosch in 2010. She believes that the academic world and her love of always acquiring new knowledge has complemented both her 'loves' of science and healthcare. Her approachable nature and caring personality makes her role as therapist that much more rewarding.
Janine has helped and guided patients in various stages of recovery from pre- and post-surgical patient care to top athletes in their final stages of rehabilitation. She has worked in various settings including community healthcare centres, private practices and hospitals (both in- and out-patient settings). Janine lived and worked in Dubai for 6 years gaining invaluable experience in orthopaedic rehabilitation with her work as a musculoskeletal outpatient physiotherapist in one of the most respected and busiest hospitals in the Dubai Healthcare City. Janine has also completed various post-graduate dry needling courses and the OMT course in 2019. As a dancer, Janine is passionate about being able to do what you love to the best of your ability; and in achieving that even when obstacles such as injuries arise.

In her 'free' time, Janine gives Classical Ballet and Ballet Barre Classes at her home studio, further investing in movement and also a love of art, imagination and beauty. She loves her two cats, who rule the household and is always planning the next big adventure with her husband, travelling somewhere new and exciting.

Casey Masterson

BSc Physiotherapy

University of the Free State - 2022

Casey graduated from Free State University in 2022. She completed and gained clinical experience in her Community service at Humansdorp Hospital. 

 

Her special interest is sport- and musculoskeletal physiotherapy and rehabilitation. She also enjoys paediatric physiotherapy. She completed her post-graduate dry needling course and will continue to enrich her knowledge of the human body. 

 

From a young age she loved outdoor activities and a variety of sports including running, hockey and ballet that contributes to her passion for treating sport and orthopedic related injuries.
